[Originally written by Colbi] (Sorry my writing sucks lol. I know what I wanna say but sometimes trip over the words. So I hope what I wrote makes sense to you guys. Thanks. Please over look my typos I tried lol.) The Crystal River Clan of Dathomir: Not the most numerous of clans of Dathomir but what they lacked in size they made up for in tactics. Experts at guerilla warfare and the use of cloaking and healing force powers made them more than a match to hold their own against the larger more dominant clans. At any given time they could field up to 700 warriors including rancors. They set themselves apart from the other clans by having access to some modern weapons and technology. All of which were flown in by a daring star ship pilot and smuggler named Corvo Alba and his equally brave Chiss co-pilot known simply as Vaughn. Corvo was on the run from Imperial and Republic ships when he mis-calculated his nav computer for a jump to light speed and accidently turned up in the Dathomir system years before it was discovered by the Empire. Corvo was fascinated by the planet from the start having to set down to make necessary repairs to his ship. While scouting the area with Vaughn they were captured by the local inhabitants of this planet. Fortunately for them it was the Crystal River Clan, because in most if not all other clans they frown upon the male species. They were bound and taken up river by these hooded face hidden human-like creatures. Behind a waterfall they were taken into a cave full of brightly glowing gemstones that seem to pulse with a life of their own. Farther in Corvo noticed this wasnt a cave at all but a whole network of passages and homes built straight into the rocks themselves. Corvo and his partner were taken to a huge room and there upon a throne of hides and bones he saw the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. She spoke and it was almost if if she were singing the sweetest song he'd ever heard and her garb was made up of a colorful array of feathers that were likely of some tropic/exotic bird. She had piercing ice blue eyes and bright copper hair. Of course he couldnt understand her til he used his translation module which he kept in his belt when he needed to translate alien business associates. Still the language was so old and ancient that it had problems deciphering everything this woman seemed to sing. In broken he picked up the words trespass and prisoners. So Corvo and Vaughn were held prisoner within the caves and were only briefly a few times a week permitted to trod outside near the community's entrance. They were never beaten or starved and were treated very well. The clan seemed fascinated with the gadgets that Corvo had brought with him especially the holo-recordings and glow sticks. The clan had never seen such magic. As time passed and Corvo learned their language and they learned some of his he explained to them how these things worked and that they were of no magic properties at all. Corvo shard these items with the clan mother (the beautiful woman he'd met upon his capture and she too found them unbelievable. A year passed by and Corvo and Vaughn were released as they seemed of no apparent threat and also the clan mother who's name he eventually learned was Ezra had taken a liking to the dashing salt and pepper haired scoundrel. They spent their days walking and talking along the Crystal River and sharing memories of their pasts and their fondness for each other. Corvo finally showed her the ship him and Vaughn had got there in and promised he would return to the planet as regular as he could. Corvo and Vaughn flew countless jobs around the galaxy but he had always kept the planet he had spent a year or longer on a secret. He didnt want the Empire or the Republic to corrupt such a serene group of peoples. What these natives thought was magic was actually the force and some seemed to be very gifted in this and Corvo had been around the galaxy enough to know that if this got out Jedi and Sith masters alike would be flocking there to disturb the naive people and their simple yet fruitful ways of life. Vaughn being his best friend agreed as well. He'd seen it happen to his own people in the past. Within the next 10 years Corvo stopped in at least twice a year to visit Ezra who was now his wife. (Reasons are unknown why he didnt convince her to leave the planet with him or why she had chosen to stay. Most likely she was the leader of her people and for Corvo maybe he feared if anyone knew of her force powers they would try to take her away from him to some academy where they would warp the mind of the woman he fell in love with.) His last stop he had been gone nearly a whole year and upon his arrival he saw Ezra (still looking as radiant as ever maybe even more so) and in her arms she held the most beautiful child he'd ever seen. Corvo was at a loss for words and tears welled up within his eyes. Not tears of sadness but tears of an overwhelming pride and happiness. She introduced the child to him as Zatana. Which she explained as meaning "Of the stars". The next year passes without incident until Corvo and Vaughn are ambushed in Hutt space by the bounty hunters Denak Prunn and Zan Vandt. Word apparently leaked out that Corvo was shipping some highly valuable cargo and the Empire wanted it. Denak and Zan were both notable bounty hunters and had taken down some of the most dangerous marks in the galaxy. Zan was so good that he even took down the first Red Blade alone with no team at all and very little in the way for firepower. Denak had been working for various Hutt cartels and had been on a streak knocking out one mark after the other. Corvo was caught completely by surprise and his hyperdrive had been hit with an ion shot that disabled it. No where to run and no way of taking out the two sleeker crafts that pursued them he had to shut down and let them board his beat up old freighter. A fire fight broke out between then and Vaughn managed to hit Denak with a fatal shot thru his neck. Zan returned fire and killed Vaughn with a shot to the head and wounded Captian Corvo with his next series of shots. The fight went on a bit longer with Corvo eventually passing out from the loss of blood and Zan took control of his ship. Limping the old freighter back to the Empire while he kept Corvo alive by cabonizing the Captain he docked with the Sun's Fury a flag ship in the Imperial Navy. This fleet was controlled by Moff Torgan. The cabonite block that was once Corvo was taken onboard and rather than pay Zan for his trouble Torgan executed him with a precision shot to the back of the head. Corvo's ship was torn apart for the contraband data he had been delivering and a discovery was found on Corvo's nav computer. A whole section of space that was unknown to the Empire and the Republic. Upon closer examination this place looked rich with minerals and crystals upon which the Sith Lords would salivate. This planet would definately fund and power the Sith and Imperial war machine for centuries to come. Up the chain the information went and within months the Empire had established an outpost and had blockaded the planet so that nothing could come in or go out. They used their scanners to detect the abundant life signs on the planet as well. Finding the primitive tribes of Nightsisters and all their respective clans along with a whole garrison of Trandoshan soldiers and slavers. The Trandoshans that returned to pick up their brethren and cargo were shot down as soon they emerged from hyperspace. Then Ground trooper of the Empire were sent in along with war machines to take out the rest of the Trandoshan threat. The sisters of the many clans on the planet proved to be more difficult to remove. The clans that were defeated were enslaved and sent to Kessell or were kept planet side and forced to give up the other clans that lay hidden on the planet. As so it went for the Crystal River clan as well. Although they were well hidden they couldnt hide from the Force which gave them away to the powerful Sith masters. Clan mother Ezra did her best to defend her people and her child from the onslaught but were eventually overwhelmed by the sheer power of the Imperial weapons and the prowess of the Sith warriors. All the survivors were taken prisoner and the cave that had once been their home became their prison. The Empire forced them to mine the crystals that were once a sacred decoration to the clan. Ezra was publically executed by a Sith lightsaber and her child was taken to the Sith seers along with the other children of the clan. Upon the arrival of the children on the Moff's ship each child was examined, most were executed and the force sensitive ones were sent to the Sith Sanctum on Dromund Kaas for further examination. Three of the fifteen that made it there stuck out. The two oldest were sent to the Sith academy right away to be trained in the dark arts. Zatana just a toddler and too young to know what was going on was sent to Imperial housing where she was to be raised by noted Imperail Colonel Mahrk Keniss and his wife and lady of the Imperial court Davra. They kept her until she was the age of six and then the Inquisitors came to take here away to Korriban for her training. During Zatana's training her masters noted she wasnt at all like the other students they were training and had trained in the past. She rarely listened to her teachings and when confronted she would talk back to her masters which usually resulted in harsh punishments and beatings that would sometimes render the girl unconscious. Still she refused to learn their teachings. She did in fact seem to possess the qualities of a healer for she would often heal up the wounds that the masters had administered to her and the wounds of her pupils. So the masters decided to beat her wasnt getting them the results they wanted so they laxed their authority and gave her the teachings of some of the Empire's finest battle healers. She loved the old scrolls and the writings upon these pages. These were teachings not of killing but preserving. The more she was taught the more she wanted. Eventually on an expedition to the moons of Yavin she found the writings of an old Jedi sage. The identity of the old master were long lost but the writings were still there. They talked about the Force and how it used to bind, not separate its users from each other. After reading this Zatana came to the conclusion that all the users of the Force were the same. Some use their powers for good some were for evil and the Dark Side followers had to much hate in them to effectively heal and preserve. She also read about the Sith and one in particular was of a good heart and a good mind. He wrote how he regretted that his people had turned to the ways of the Dark Side. This gave her a mission. She is to uphold justice, peace, and preservation of all life whenever possible. If she can convince the Sith the error of their ways then maybe the Jedi and the Sith can be one hamonious entity. Both being justice bringers and the Sith not preying upon the weak and the Jedi not being so cynical as to abandon hope when one seems to be on the wrong path. Zatana actually sees the faults in both unions. She hopes that one day she with the power of her influence cant take the Sith to their true glory and not the monsters they have become.
