Crafting 101:
Why craft?
Crafting is often seen as an afterthought in most games. Some people hate it, some people love it, some people ignore it. But what that means is it is an "addition to" in most games. You can play the game without it, you can succeed without it, but you can never fully utilize every available resource you have available without it. Crafting is a way to make money, a way to advance your character's stats without spending money, and in The Imperial Army it is a culture of folks helping others acheive those as well. Below I am going to go step by step process on how to craft in Star Wars the Old Republic

Crafting Components
Before we dive deep into each crafting skill I want to first talk a little bit about crafting components so there is no confusion later. Crafting components are either called Bonded Components, Assembly Components, or Cell grafts depending on the crafter you are using. To make anything with the exception of Dark Projects and Decoration Prefabs, you need crafting components. These are comprised of the two types of gathering materials and the white crafting material for that grade. As we go through each crew skill we will speak about crafting components, what materials are required for each one and their respective uses.
War Supply
These are items, typically used for different conquest objectives but can be used to purchase different types of deco on fleet. It is important to note that War Supplies utilize multiple bonded components, all except for the grade 11’s only require 2 of each required material to craft each one. The grade 11’s which are the ones that start with premium require 6 mats to craft each one making those the major bottleneck in crafting invasion forces.

Infantry Supply Kit - Biochem 2 types

Utilizes grade 4, 6, 8, 9 , and 10 biochemical sample and biochemical compound along with the white crafting material of those grades

Utilizes grade 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11 biochemical sample and biochemical compound along with the white crafting material of those grades

Crystal Capacitor- Artifice/Synthweaver

Utilizes grade 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11 power crystal and artifact fragments along with the white crafting material of those grades
Holocron of Strategy-Artifice/Synthweaver

Utilizes grade 4, 6, 8, 9 , and 10 power crystals and artifact fragments along with the white crafting material of those grades


Starship Weapons-Cybertech/Armormech/Armstech

Utilizes grade 4, 6, 8, 9 , and 10 scavenged metal and scavenge compound along with the white crafting material of those grades

Armored Vehicles-Cybertech/Armormech/Armstech

Utilizes grade 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11 scavenged metal and scavenge compound along with the white crafting material of those grades

Invasion Forces
Invasion forces utilize one of each of the war supplies. They take a long time to craft, even with leveled companions and bonus’. Invasion forces can be used for decoration items on fleet, crafting dark projects, and conquest objectives.
Dark Projects
Dark projects are valuable asset that can be used to purchase a few different things beyond just being something to gtn for a reasonable price
It can:

Be used for conquest using perk Crafting Rally Pt 2

Be traded into the conquest vendor on fleet for the Companions Compenium

The Companions compendiem gets one companion to lvl 50

Can purchase specific decorations

Can provide the guild with perks for a planet they control during conquest.
To craft these it requires 3 items
Iokath Recombinators - Purchased from Nessl Vaccan, the recovered goods vendor on Odessen found in the Alliance staging area where the entrances to the uprisings are


Invasion force
This is the most expensive and time consuming part of this. If you are hard up for conquest points or really need a dark project you can purchase this from the gtn for currently 800k, but price fluctuates. To craft it yourself please look above as I break down war supplies

Refined Isotope Stabilizer
Can be purchased from Mnek the prototype jawa. He can be a decoration himself or found in the cartel bazaar. It uses 12 of the blue assorted droid parts

Augments
Augments are the last step when it comes to stat gearing. I would recommend you find a set bonus you like first as augment kits are one use only and do cost some resources, not massively expensive but if you are just starting out it is good not to waste resources.
There are only 3 crafters that can make augments, Synthweaver, Armstech, and Armormech. These are also the only crafters that can make augment kits and these crafters us the same mats for the augments they can make.

Armormech can craft Absorb and Alacrity Augments. these require you to craft up to the blue assembly components ultizing the green grade 9 scavaging and underworld training materials

Armstech can craft Shield, Versitile, and Accuracy Augments. these require you to craft up to the blue assembly components ultizing the green grade 9 scavaging and underworld training materials
