Update your profile
|
This is a friendly reminder to update your profile if you haven't recently. Set your time zone, add contact information, and register and update your in-game player characters.
A few new features have been added to the website for player profiles:
- You can now indicate when your character is Level 50.
- Select your PvE role based on your chosen advanced class and talents.
- Indicate which professions you have maxed out at Level 400.
The various roster pages have been updated to allow people to filter player and profession lists based on these new data points.

IA Guild Meeting Recap: 1/8/12

We had a very good turn out for our first guild meeting since the launch of SW:TOR. I don't believe we got an official headcount, but I know there were 31 on Teamspeak, and many more that were participating in game only. I wanted to briefly go over the updates and promotions which you would have missed if you weren't able to make it.
- Master Sergeant Kawolski was assigned the rank of Warrant Officer, where he can continue his service to the 47th monitoring our Holonet and Website services.
- Sergeant Foln has been promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and appointed as 2nd Platoon Leader.
- Corporal Kalec Falx has been promoted to Sergeant and will assume command of 1st Platoon, 3rd Squad, The Blood Crows.
- Private Raziel was promoted to Corporal and will be Squad Corporal of 1st Platton, 3rd Squad, soon to be appointed to a squad of his own.
In addition to those promotions these cadets have passed their training period and have been promoted to private and assigned to the following squads:
- A-1-1 (The Basilisks) : Drudge, Jaws, Drakhul, and Kijo Smith
- A-1-3 (Blood Crows) : Scultone and Shadowfyre
- A-1-4 (Phantom Squad) : Arsik Vek, Malula Drogba, and Dresden
- A-2-1 (The Rancors) : Dave, Jahlod, and Spektor
- A-2-2 (The Unamed Squad) : Donnerjack
- A-2-3 [New Squad!] : Vidicus and Jandoliser
Congratulations to all the cadets. We also had several transfers to even out the squad numbers and regroup members by their playing times or requests from squad leaders. These transfers were made to the following squads:
- A-1-2 (Firaxan Sharks) : Zed, Xai and Lance
- A-1-4 (Phantom Squad) : Asopa
- A-2-1 (The Rancors) : Flotg and Pherix
- A-2-2 (The Unamed Squad) : Kamei
Also announced: We have formed a planning group to come up with some guidelines and options for Operations. Once we have a few difference options drawn up, we will be opening the discussion to the entire guild where we can fine tune it and select the one we want to go with. We're all anxious to start these cool looking encounters, and we want to make sure we develop the best and more fair system we can! More details to come.
In addition we would like to remind our members that not everyone is at the same spot in their class stories and planetary arcs. Be very careful not to spoil content. Before you talk about something which my be a spoiler, just do a quick check of the people aroundt. We want everyone to experience the same wonder when seeing something for the first time or seeing that plot twist they weren't expecting. This applies to both guildchat and Teamspeak.
Please take a moment, if you haven't already, and add all your characters to your profiles here on the website. We all have many alts and it gets confusing seeing all the names bouncing around. With the handy search feature here in our roster, we can easy find a name and see who they belong to. Also you can add your crew skills so if someone is looking for something you can do, they can find it!
Flotg is heading up a Huttball team for those interested. You must be at least level 14 and have the sprint ability to join. Contact him for more information.
At this point, based on current events, promotions, etc, we may not have a meeting every single week. We will post to the event calendar and document it in the Guild MOTD in advance so you have fair warning.

New site updates

A few new updates have been made to the site:
- Added additional error checking for adding events to keep people from entering the wrong year (it's 2012 now)
- "Upcoming Events" widget added to the home and events pages
- Reformatted event display for improved readability
- Added location to events
- Added player mains to the roster
- Added forum account administration links to profiles for admins
- Renamed "Published By" to "Maintained By" for articles
- Player photos display on profiles
- Started work on syncing the roster data with forum display tags
- Enlistment application text updated

Mission Accomplished: Fall of "the First"

IMPERIAL ARMY 47TH IMPERIAL EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
OPERATION "FIRST STRIKE" POST MISSION REPORT
TO: KEEPER, Imperial Intellegence Office, Dromund Kaas
FR: Watcher 47
Following the information provided by Watcher 7, an elite team deployed to rid Dromund Kaas of the terrible menace known to locals as "the First." In order to minimize the possibility of casualties, the 47th cleared a wide swath through the jungle, eliminating any wildlife threat from "The Wall" to the target zone.
We found the massive beast trudging through the waist deep waters of the nearby river and once in place we launched an all out assault on the creature. It put up a defense but was no match for our clearly superior firepower and we were able to retrieve the lost artifact without further incident.
The operation was a complete success and there were only minor injuries, which were treated on site.
